NORTHERN EXPERIENCE

Farne Islands

*CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE*

With ongoing restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic, we are not currently offering this tour.  Please see our 'New Approach during COVID19 restrictions' for further information.

A Northern Experience Farne Islands Safari is your opportunity to enjoy one of the greatest wildlife experiences in the world with one of our experienced guides.  In March, April, September and October these trips include sailing around the islands on a Grey Seal Cruise and in May, June, July and August we land on Inner Farne with it's breathtaking colony of terns, Puffins, Kittiwakes and other seabirds.  As well as the boat trip we will explore the beautiful Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

There is a landing fee to pay to the National Trust (landing is free for National Trust members), not included in the cost of our trip - please remember to bring your membership card with you!

Your Prestige Tour will begin from a location of your choice, and is an exclusive tour just for two, including our Prestige Northumbrian picnic.

Safari Days start from your location in the Seahouses area, which can be reached by public transport and is also the starting point for our mini-Safaris.

If you're looking for holiday accommodation that's ideal for our Lindisfarne tours then we recommend The Old Rectory in Howick, St Cuthbert's House and the Bamburgh Castle Inn in Seahouses, Composers at Woodlands in Scremerston, the Dunstanburgh Castle Hotel in Embleton and The Queen's Head Hotel in Berwick.

You can see available dates by visiting our calendar page, which has our online shop built into it to make it easier for you to book the date you want.

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY

We had a great day out with Martin, but the highlight was certainly the trip to the Farne Islands. The boat got us really close to the cliffs and you could see and smell the birds! Landing on one island let us see and be attacked by the Artic Terns (apart from Hannah, who remained untouched!). The female Eider ducks were so well camouflaged that you had to look really carefully to see them. Everybody’s favourite were the Puffins, which came in and out of their burrows. Hannah overcame her fear of boats and Ben took lots of great photos with guidance from Martin.

Lovely to have the day arranged and someone so knowledgeable as Martin to tell us what we were looking at – a highlight of our holiday.
