{"id":4893,"date":"2019-08-23T17:13:08","date_gmt":"2019-08-23T16:13:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.northernexperiencewildlifetours.co.uk\/blog\/?p=4893"},"modified":"2019-08-23T17:13:09","modified_gmt":"2019-08-23T16:13:09","slug":"quick-start-otter-safari-20-08-19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.northernexperiencewildlifetours.co.uk\/blog\/index.php\/northumberland\/druridge\/quick-start-otter-safari-20-08-19","title":{"rendered":"Quick start; Otter Safari 20\/08\/19"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I collected Jo from Newbiggin for her 2nd day out with NEWT and we set off for an afternoon and evening <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"around Druridge Bay (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.northernexperiencewildlifetours.co.uk\/experiences\/tour\/12\" target=\"_blank\">around Druridge Bay<\/a> and southeast Northumberland <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"searching for Otters (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.northernexperiencewildlifetours.co.uk\/tour\/1\" target=\"_blank\">searching for Otters<\/a>&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As we set off I decided to change the order that we&#8217;d visit our usual sites&#8230;and it paid off almost immediately with an <strong><em>Otter<\/em><\/strong> cub feeding mid-river as <strong><em>Little Grebes<\/em><\/strong> watched it warily as <strong><em>Cormorants<\/em><\/strong> dried their wings nearby \ud83d\ude42  <strong><em>Pochards, Shovelers, Mallards, Teal<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>Moorhen<\/em><\/strong> all got out of the way as a <strong><em>Grey Heron<\/em><\/strong> flew in and throughout the trip <strong><em>Sparrowhawks<\/em><\/strong> flushed birds that were quietly roosting.
