Sarah took a group who preferred very short walks and a very relaxed approach to their birdwatching.  Myself and Tom separated the remainder into two equally sized groups and covered a bit more ground each day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Druridge Bay and southeast Northumberland (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.northernexperiencewildlifetours.co.uk\/experiences\/tour\/12\" target=\"_blank\">Druridge Bay and southeast Northumberland<\/a> produced a day that included <strong><em>Little Gull<\/em><\/strong>, <strong><em>Willow Tit<\/em><\/strong>, a very obliging baby <strong><em>Rabbit<\/em><\/strong>, and a <strong><em>Heron<\/em><\/strong> wrestling with, and finally subduing and eating a huge <strong><em>Eel<\/em><\/strong>, nicely bookended by a couple of local specialties with <strong><em>Red Squirrel<\/em><\/strong> at the start of the day (just as we got off the coach at our first stop!) and two incredibly obliging <strong><em>Dippers<\/em><\/strong> on the River Blyth at the end of the afternoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lindisfarne was bathed in the complex song of <strong><em>Skylarks<\/em><\/strong> and the parachuting songflight of <strong><em>Meadow Pipits<\/em><\/strong>.  <strong><em>Grey Seals<\/em><\/strong> meandered through the surf as <strong><em>Curlews<\/em><\/strong> and a lone <strong><em>Whimbrel<\/em><\/strong> flew along the shoreline and <strong><em>Roe Deer<\/em><\/strong> were quietly grazing close to the dunes.  A flock of waders roosting on a distant shingley sandbar could just be identified as <strong><em>Grey Plovers<\/em><\/strong> with bright sunlight silhouetting them and the scattered reflections off the water challenging observation.  Then a cloud passed in front of the Sun and there were close to 100 breeding-plumaged <strong><em>Grey Plovers<\/em><\/strong>!
