{"id":2307,"date":"2014-04-03T18:07:26","date_gmt":"2014-04-03T17:07:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.northernexperiencewildlifetours.co.uk\/blog\/?p=2307"},"modified":"2014-04-03T18:07:26","modified_gmt":"2014-04-03T17:07:26","slug":"more-shades-of-grey","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.northernexperiencewildlifetours.co.uk\/blog\/index.php\/northumberland\/more-shades-of-grey","title":{"rendered":"More shades of grey"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Our <a href=\"http:\/\/www.northernexperiencewildlifetours.co.uk\/tours.php?id=4\" target=\"_blank\">Beginners Photography<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northernexperiencewildlifetours.co.uk\/blog\/index.php\/northumberland\/shades-of-grey-beginners-photography-29032014\" target=\"_blank\">workshop on Saturday<\/a> had got me thinking about an aspect of photography that I&#8217;ve neglected in recent years, but one which dominated much of my photography in the late &#8217;80s and early &#8217;90s &#8211; black &amp; white.\u00a0 Back then I spent much of my time composing, exposing, developing and printing landscapes and portraits in monochrome, but in the digital age I haven&#8217;t really given it much thought.\u00a0 It isn&#8217;t unusual to see discussions about the relevance of b&amp;w in this age of intensely saturated HDR images, but it makes challenging demands of the photographer.\u00a0 Stripped of colour, the image relies on something else &#8211;
