I’ve always said that it’s incredibly rare to see nothing; on days when the target species fails to put in an appearance there’s often an unexpected or memorable encounter with other wildlife.<\/p>\n

I collected Owen & Faith, and David & Conny at Church Point and we set off to scour Druridge Bay<\/a> and south east Northumberland in search of Otters<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0 Showing just how unpredictable they can be, there was no sign of any Otters<\/strong> <\/em>at any of the sites where we’ve been watching them in recent weeks…mid-July is an excellent time for one of NEWT’s other favourite animals though, and having a stop on the clifftops, looking out over a calm sea in near-perfect viewing conditions, paid dividends as we watched a small group of White-beaked Dolphins<\/strong><\/em> making their way along the coast.<\/p>\n

As I dropped everyone back at Church Point at the end of the evening, I mentioned to David and Conny that there was a site close to where they were staying that would be worth checking before they finished their holiday…and, of course, they managed to find an Otter<\/strong> <\/em>there \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
