Northern Experience Family Events are designed to provide fun for all the family; whether walking at dusk and trying to spot bats (with the aid of our electronic bat detectors), using sweep nets to catch minibeasts who are hiding in the grass or catching the moths that are attracted to our light trap, all of these events are suitable for young and old. With excellent venues like Lee Moor Farm, Choppington Woods and the surroundings of Bamburgh Castle, your family will talk about the event for a long time to come.

With a leader who is an experienced teacher and wildlife guide, passionate about natural history and education, you’ll be in good hands.

Prices vary depending on the event so give us a call on 01670 827465 to check what’s coming up or to discuss a bespoke event for your family.
My kind brother-in-law organised a surprise safari with Martin for our young family. Not knowing what we were in for, we all thoroughly enjoyed our day. With a 4 yr old, 2 year and a 4 month old, I'm not sure that Martin knew what he was in for! However, he tailored the safari to suit our needs perfectly and he made sure that we were all involved in the wildlife spotting. We all loved the bumpy boat ride out to see the seals on the Farne Islands and then a spot of beach combing and rock pool dipping for beach wildlife. A tasty picnic to suit all ages and then a trip up the coast to sample the varied birdlife. Thanks Martin and we will certainly recommend you to others.  The Smart Family, Aberdeenshire (Farne Islands Safari)
